Three chefs from ALMA, the foremost authority on Italian cuisine, will host cooking classes in Addis Abeba at the end of January next year to promote Italian cuisine in Ethiopia. The training in Addis Abeba is part of the global initiative to promote Italian cooking, according to ALMA chefs, who train in many courses on various aspects of gastronomy and hospitality. The end of the classes will be accompanied by the introduction of an authentic Italian menu to the local scene just before the long Easter fasting period starts. Participants in the classes will receive a certificate from ALMA. On Thursday, November 17, the expansive Italian Embassy compound hosted an array of delicious cuisine prepared by chefs from ALMA, a culinary education centre in Italy. Local Italian restaurants hosted the culinary event in partnership with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Trade Agency. Andiamo, Belle Vedre and Villa Verde are some of the Italian restaurants that cooperated with Ethiopian cooking schools, Eskafier being the most prominent culinary school.
