Nestle Backs Communities in Sululta

Nestlé has handed over 3.6 million Br to the Ethiopian Red Cross in support for containing the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Sululta area. The donation will be funnelled to assisting the delivery of water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH) support for the most vulnerable communities. Through this support, the Ethiopian Red Cross Society will address 1,100 households in the area. Construction of a water spring and water collection points, cattle trough, wash basin and shower, as well as improving the security of Bosaka Spring by rehabilitating the fencing will be implemented. The company also donated personal protective equipment (PPE), including 500 scrubs and 500 rubber boots, to the Ministry of Health in early June to support health workers on the front line. Established in 2006, Nestlé Ethiopia, a wing of the Swiss multinational organisation, has investments in Nestlé NIDO, Nestlé Maggi and Nescafe in the country. Nestlé Ethiopia also serves as the headquarters of the Nestlé Horn of Africa (HoA) Cluster.
