Indian State-Owned RailTel to Deliver Data Centre

RailTel Corporation of India Limited has announced plans to build a greenfield data centre in Addis Abeba for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in support of the country’s Digital Ethiopia Strategy. In a press release, the company said the project will be completed within one year, followed by three years of operation and maintenance support after commissioning. The facility is expected to strengthen the digital infrastructure, cybersecurity capacity and data services. RailTel is a government-owned telecommunications company under Indian Railways, providing broadband connectivity, data centre services and network solutions in India and overseas, with a focus on digital infrastructure and IT-enabled services. The company’s Chairman and Managing Director said RailTel is committed to delivering the project to high quality and reliability standards, reinforcing its position as a global digital infrastructure partner aligned with India’s development cooperation objectives.
