Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) recieves a 2.5 million Br donation to realise the trading system that includes wheat and provide warehouse finance services. The food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has donated funding from the Italian Cooperation Agency. Farmers and suppliers can deliver wheat to one of the 25 branches of the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange, expanded to sub-branch locations through unions. They can also take advantage of the quick clearing and settlement system, get real-time market information on wheat trade, and use the warehouse receipt financing system to obtain a short-term loan.
