Manufacturing Generates $203m Export Revenues

Export proceeds from manufacturing were recorded at 203 million dollars over the first five months of the fiscal year, according to the Ministry of Industry. The figure is 94pc of the target set out by the Ministry. Revenues show a 29pc increase from the same period last year. Manufactured products brought in close to 157 million dollars in the four months since July 2021, accounting for a little over 10pc of export proceeds. Agricultural items accounted for the bulk of the revenues, bringing in 904 million dollars. Coffee remains the most significant export commodity, making up around half this amount. Mining, mostly gold, brought in 188 million dollars.
