Revenues Ministry Collects 70b Br in First Quarter

The Ministry of Revenues collected over 70 billion Br in taxes and duties over the first three months of the fiscal year. The figure is 10.6pc higher than what was collected over the same period last year. Domestic taxes account for over half of the amount (38.6 billion Br), exhibiting a 8.5pc growth, while import duties registered at 31 billion Br, 13.4pc higher than the figure from the same period last year. Lottery ticket sales made up a little over one percent of the total. The Ministry collected 279 billion Br in tax revenues last year and plans to raise 334 billion Br this year.
