The Council of Ministers has given the nod to a 786.6 billion Br budget for the coming fiscal year.
It is 40pc higher than what lawmakers had apportioned for 2021/22. In dollar terms, the budget bill exhibited a 14pc increase.
Recurrent expenditures account for 347 billion Br, while 218 billion Br has been set aside for capital expenditures. Regional budgets and development projects take up the balance.
The proposed budget will be tabled to Parliament for final approval.
