A number of parliamentarians have challenged a motion brought forward by the administration of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) on the executive accountability of federal agencies such as the Anti-corruption Commission and the central bank.
The first session of the sixth parliament is in progress where the Prime Minister is expected to nominate ministers for his cabinet.
Unlike its predecessor, this parliament has 11 opposition candidates although the ruling Prosperity Party continues to hold hegemonic status in the legislative house.
