Ministry Rolls Out Water Bill Upgrade

The water billing system of 15 towns in five regional states foresees a 4.2 million Br software installations upgrade after four months, financed by the Italian government. Officials from the Ministry of Water & Energy signed an agreement with a private company Daftech. The company has over 13 years of experience in the field and has successfully implemented the system in over 130 towns, including the Addis Abeba Water & Sewerage Service. The agreement was signed between the Minister of State for Water & Energy, Asfaw Dingamo and Denekew Berihun, CEO of Daftech. According to Denekew, their system will address issues mainly related to metre readings and billing.

Authority Reports Fuel Import Stats

Ethiopian Petroleum & Energy Authority (EPA) disclosed that 3.2 million tons of fuel were imported into the country during the last fiscal year.
