Ministry Amasses 24b Br in Month

The Ministry of Revenues reported that it has collected 24 billion Br in tax revenues in October, out of a target of 29 billion Br, achieving 82.7pc of its goal. Adanech Abebe, minister of Revenues, indicated that the majority of the revenue was collected from local taxes. The month of October is known as tax season. “The Ministry even worked during Saturday and Sunday during the month,” said Adanech. The Ministry also seized 123 million Br worth of contraband commodities during the same period. For the current fiscal year, the Ministry plans to collect 213.9 billion Br.

Cabinet Approves Public Service Legislation
