Local Firm Launches E-Commerce Platforms

Addis Mercato has officially launched two online platforms dedicated to shopping and logistics last week. Consumers will no longer have to go through congested traffic and packed parking spaces to shop around, according to Abiy Selassie, CEO and founder of Addis Mercato. “They can do their shopping from the convenience of their own living rooms or offices,” said Abiy, who has more than two decades of experience working in the retail and supply chain industry including for the world’s largest retailer, Walmart. Addis Mercato also introduced an application that allows customers to track the status of their order from placement to delivery in real-time.

Cabinet Approves Public Service Legislation

Council of Ministers has unanimously approved the legislation that aims to raise the competency and professionalism of public service in the country.
