Merchandise with a political message has always been around in Addis Abeba’s streets but there seems to be an uptick these days as this street vendor along Churchill Avenue testifies. He is carrying for sale various t-shirts with green-yellow-red colours on them. While some of them have a political meaning behind them, others draw on from the Rastafarian lifestyle and motifs.
