Addis Abeba University's Autonomy Shuts the Door on Brightest Minds

A shift toward autonomy has resulted in crucial changes at AAU. With government financial assistance thinning out, AAU seeks to balance its academic standards with a new fee structure. However, the upfront payment requirement has left several students struggling to meet these high costs. The toil has resulted in a drop in AAU's undergraduate students intake for the upcoming academic year, reports Bezawit Huluager, Fortune Staff Writer.
