New Incubation Centre to Rise in 2020

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will invest in the establishment of an innovation incubation centre in Ethiopia. Costing 10 million dollars, it will open in 2020. “The incubation centre will utilise technologies that can be helpful for small and medium businesses in the rural areas of the country," KOICA Ethiopia's Office Country Director, Dong Ho Kim, said. The innovation hub will be established within the Ministry of Innovation & Technology, providing capacity building programmes to the Ministry. The hub will be instrumental in helping Ethiopia unleash its untapped innovative ideas of its youth that graduate from TVETs, according to the country director. "KOICA, which has been dispatching volunteers in the fields of education, health and public administration since 1995, will now continue its support in the manufacturing sector, particularly in agro-processing," he said.
