Electro Mecce Exports Machinery to Somaliland

Electro Mecce Engineering Service for the first time exported six animal feed machines to Welthungerhilfe, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Hargeisa, Somaliland on July 23, 2019. Electro Mecce exported three hammer mills and three shredders at the cost of 42,687 dollars. The agreement between the two companies includes supplying, packaging, transporting, installation and customs fees for the six machines. The local firm assembled the machines in-house by buying the metal from the local market and importing six engines from China and Turkey for 25,000 Br. The company has been working in the mechanical engineering sector since 2001. It started operations by building 70 types of different animal feed machines and supplying them to unions, universities, private companies and research centres. The company has supplied four machines to Amhara, 14 machines to Oromia, four machines to Tigray, six machines to SNNP, 19 machines to Addis Abeba and 12 machines to Jijiga. Welthungerhilfe is a German-based NGO involved in providing emergency aid. Since its founding in 1962, it has used nearly 3.3 billion euros to carry out more than 8,500 aid projects in 70 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia.
