Institute, US Firm Allies on Data Analytics

The government has partnered with a foreign tech firm to work on capacity building of local data analysis. The Technology & Innovation Institute signed the memorandum of understanding with Zenysis Technologies last week to build local capacity in processing big data and advanced data analysis capabilities. Sandokan Debebe, director of the Institute, and Bernard Laurendeau, regional director for Zenysis Technologies, signed the agreement at the premises of the Ministry of Innovation & Technology on July 25, 2019. “The agreement helps to bring reliable and timely information to decision makers and analysts and enables them to make evidence-based decisions,” said Sandokan. “We have to digitalise our documentation system.” Zenysis Technologies is a data and artificial intelligence company based in Silicon Valley. The company was established in 2015, and it is led by software engineers and data scientists from Google, Amazon and NASA.
