Hong Kong Company Leases Bahir Dar Industrial Park

Hop Lun Ltd, a Hong Kong company, has leased all the sheds at Bahir Dar Industrial Park. The handover ceremony was held in Bahir Dar on July 10, 2019, with the presence of Lelise Neme, CEO of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation, Melaku Alebel, head of the Amhara Regional State Industry & Investment Bureau, and Hop Lun officials. The Park rests on 75ha of land and is currently 93pc completed. The remaining work concerns water pipes and electric power installation, which are set to be completed within a month. The Park has eight sheds for textile production. Upon being fully operational, it is expected to create 10,000 jobs. In its first phase, it will create jobs for 6,000 people. Bahir Dar Industrial Park is one of the seven parks that will enter into production soon. Established in 1992, Hop Lun is an international fashion, lingerie and swimwear company. Currently, Hop Lun has close to 30,000 employees and owns eight manufacturing facilities across three countries.
