The state owned utility monopoly, Ethiopian Electric, has ended power rationing to household users while extending the shading to industries for additional two weeks.
For the coming 15 days, all industries will be operating with their 50pc capacity during day time and can work in their full capacity between 11:00pm and 5:00am. However, stone crushing plants will remain off the grid for the coming one month.
The Ministry of Water & Electricity has announced a program of electricity rationing mid of May this year, in response to recent shortages, whose cause remains controversial despite the Ministry's senior officials blaming it on water shortages.
