Midroc Gold Mining has contracted Austria-based CEMTEC (Cement & Mining Technology GmbH) to supply and install equipment for a new gold processing plant in Metekel Zone, Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. Designed to process up to 1.25 million tn of gold-bearing ore a year, the facility is part of Midroc's expansion in the area. Under the agreement, CEMTEC will manufacture the plant's key processing machinery and install it at the Midroc Metekel Gold Plant. The equipment is scheduled for completion and delivery within a year. Midroc Gold Mining, part of Midroc Investment Group, is involved in gold mining and processing in Ethiopia, including the western part of the country. The Metekel facility will expand the company's processing capacity in a region that has attracted investment in gold exploration and mining. Established in 1990 and headquartered in Enns, Austria, CEMTEC designs, manufactures and supplies technology and processing systems for the cement, mining and other industrial sectors. CEMTEC is expected to begin manufacturing the equipment before delivering and installing it at the project site. The one-year timetable covers equipment completion and delivery, while bringing the facility into operation will depend on transportation, installation and the remaining project requirements.
