Bethesda American Medical Plaza has reached a historic milestone, becoming the first healthcare institution in Ethiopia to secure accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI). The recognition was unveiled during its first anniversary celebration held at the Skylight Hotel on June 28, 2026. The event also featured a guided tour of the hospital’s facilities, where senior officials and guests examined patient rooms and service areas. During the visit, Ayele Teshome (MD), CEO of Bethesda American Medical Plaza, briefed Health Minister Mekdes Daba (MD) inside one of the patient rooms along Haile Gebre Selassie Street. Chief Operating Officer Shamnesh K.P. stood to the left as part of the delegation, while Endalkachew Tsedal, lead executive officer at the Ministry of Health, observed the proceedings.
