The Ministry of Agriculture has generated more than three billion dollars from the agricultural sector in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. Minister Addisu Arega announced the figure on April 25, 2026, during a sector performance review, noting that the earnings were drawn from agricultural exports and related activities over the period. The ministry said the growth was driven by higher production and improved supply of competitive products in both quality and volume. Key contributors included irrigated wheat production, livestock and livestock products, and other export-oriented crops. Addisu also said more than 2,000 modern agricultural machines were distributed to farmers during the period to boost efficiency in cultivation and harvesting.
