PM Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has inaugurated the Wind Power Project, Aysha-II on January 31, 2026. Located in the Somali Region, the project was inaugurated with an annual generation capacity of 467 GWh, Aysha-II leverages advanced SCADA and SVG technologies to provide reliable, scalable power infrastructure, supporting the country's transition to a technology-driven economy and strengthening national energy security. The project’s strategic location near national borders positions Ethiopia as a potential regional hub for energy trade, enhancing both domestic power access and cross-border electricity exports. Aysha-II represents a significant step in the nation’s push toward sustainable energy and regional integration.
