The African Development Bank Group has approved 76.37 million dollars to finance Somalia’s Road Infrastructure Programme under the regional transport corridor linking Somalia, Djibouti, and Ethiopia. The package includes 49.16 million dollars from the African Development Fund and 27.21 million dollars from the Transition Support Facility. AfDB officials said the funding will support road rehabilitation, bridge construction, and trade facilitation measures. Priority works will focus on two key routes, a 15-km stretch between Zeila and Asha Addo in Somaliland and a 22-km section connecting Beledweyne, Hirshabelle State, planned at improving regional connectivity and cross-border trade.
