Afar State Receives Medical Device Donation

Afar Regional State has received 24 million Br worth of medical devices for use in health posts, health centres and hospitals. The devices were donated by Amref Health Africa through its A’ago – Improving Sexual Reproductive Health project, which is supported by the government of the Netherlands, which provided the equipment and solutions by partnering with Philips Healthcare Africa. The community outreach kit includes portable ultrasound, foetal doppler, digital blood pressure and heartbeat monitor, children’s automated respiration monitor and diagnostic ECG. The products will be distributed to 93 health posts, 23 health centres and hospitals as well as 10 health district offices in the regional state.
