Ministry Embarks on E-tax Services

Jan 16 , 2024

A massive expansion of e-tax system was announced by the Ministry of Revenues last week, as part of an ongoing effort to digitise the entire services provided across tax bureaus. Late and advance payments, partial document filing and audit findings within the Ministry's purview will be given through the digital platform. The Ministry gave a month-long window for taxpayers to submit their list of employees, contact addresses and other relevant information to their designated tax offices. A  simultaneous digitisation campaign at the Ministry of Regional Trade & Integration comes live, as import-export permits are provided through the e-trade system as of two weeks ago. Fayda, the national digital ID project that received a 350 million dollar boost from the World Bank last month, will be integrated into most government services in the next two years.
