Habesha Breweries S.C is launching a new alcohol-free beverage, Negus, starting this month. Brewed in Habesha’s Debre Berhan plant, Negus will initially be made available for markets in Addis Ababa and Debre Berhan. The launch of the new product comes three years after Habesha hit the market, according to Zewdu Nigate, CEO for Habesha Breweries. Habesha Breweries was founded in 2009 by about 8,000 shareholders and started brewing Habesha Beer in 2015. Two years ago Habesha had a 43.3-million-dollar expansion to beef up production capacity from 650,000 hectolitres to 1.5 million hectolitres.
