Primary Health Care Advocates Call for Investment

Close to 500 participants engaged in primary health care convened in the capital last week to support investments that strengthen partnerships for long-lasting services in the sector. Thomas Frieden (MD), president of Resolve to Save Live, underscored the need to invest well in primary health, drawing from the experience of his foundation in managing health crises. The three-day Conference was organised by the Institute for Primary Health Care Ethiopia (IPHC-E) partnering with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health and the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. Minister Lia Tadesse (MD) indicated that the platform significantly contributes to providing access to information vital for the creation of successful health policies while Jean Kaseya (MD), director general of CDC Africa, said Africans to make a habit of spending on their health.
