Dashen, Mastercard Launch Multi-currency Payment System

Travellers that can provide essential documents such as passports, visas and air tickets can make payments worldwide through Dashen Bank which avails a multicurrency card with virtual access following its partnership with Mastercard. Dubbed Dashen Mastercard the card is integrated into Mastercard's Payment Gateway System and was availed at the Sheraton Hotel last week. Dashen is one of the first generations of Ethiopian banks that exceeded the minimum paid-up capital requirement put forth by the central bank by 1.6 billion Br while amassing 2.9 billion Br net profit last year. President of Dashen Bank Asfaw Alemu highlighted the service granting of freedom to manage finances from anywhere in the world as a convenient and innovative offering. "It is the first of its kind with features like seamless accessibility and multi-currency," Asfaw told Fortune.
