DHL Ethiopia Passes the Baton

DHL appoint Kidist Teklu Kemeshi as Country Manager in Ethiopia, taking over the helm from Silvio Weiland. Kidist brings over a decade of experience in the logistics sector from having previously served as a Country Manager at ISS Global Forwarding and marketing director at Panafric Global. It will serve her well as she seeks to utilise technology to ensure active engagement and improved customer visibility in her new role. She has expressed her excitement for utilising the strategic location and harnessing the unparalleled supply chain management knowledge at the company. DHL is a US-founded German logistics company providing courier, package delivery and express mail service. The three letters are an acronym of its initial founders in San Fransisco Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn, who launched the company in 1969. Over the years, DHL has become an international freight and logistics powerhouse delivering over 1.8 billion parcels per year. It is a subsidiary of the Deutsche Post DHL Groups connecting over 220 countries and has over 500,000 employees. The Group acquired Hillebrand in March 2022 for 1.5 billion euros, seeking to expand its know-how and customer experience in bulk liquids and other adjacent special care commodities.
