Associations Eye Outsourcing Business Process

Apr 15 , 2023

Fresh ICT graduates and young tech professionals are hoping to work for international technology companies as the newly established outsourcing association starts its operation in Ethiopia. The association will provide a platform for tech professionals to capitalize on the opportunity, delegating IT-related business operations to independent contractors known as business process outsourcing (BPO). At the inaugural ceremony held last week Belete Mola (PhD), minister of Innovation & Technology, said associations will play a vital role in linking the workforce with prospective employers in the tech industry and in foreign currency generation. He said that BPO is one of the areas that will be given due attention as the nation strives to realize a digital Ethiopia by 2033. The Ministry pledges its assistance to companies and outsourcing associations by providing technical support and working space in the newly built ICT park. Following the Indian BPO market which is the primary choice for many tech companies becoming expensive to outsource their employees, many tech businesses are shifting their focus to the African BPO market.
