Japanese, Ethiopian Firms Finance Half a Million Dollar Worth Competition

Local startups are called to pitch their ideas on the road to becoming one of the eight startup businesses to secure capital ranging from 100,000 to half a million dollars, along with the prospect of future investment from ICJ. They will have the chance to discuss with senior executives from the Tokyo-based venture capital firm Inclusion Japan (ICJ) and Kazana Fund. The event is part of a 100 million dollar budget investment by ICJ that is planned to interact with a wide range of sectors. ICJ has already invested in 16 startups. It started operations in Africa, with its first investment of over three million dollars. The Director, Yasuhiro Yoshizawa, said they are looking forward to meeting more promising Ethiopian startups through this event. Along with Addis Alemayehu, partner at Kazana Fund, they will co-chair the competition.
