Coffee is about to be offered to the international market through e-commerce through a US company dubbed Cropconnex. The company has obtained a license to market through an electronic platform. The Ministry of Innovation & Technology and Cropconnex made a joint statement regarding preparing to supply coffee to the international market. State Minister Huria Ali said that organizations are entering into electronic business by taking advantage of the opportunity. "Cropconnex", an electronic trading system company based in San Francisco, US, said it will provide coffee through e-commerce. Huria announced that the electronic trading system would connect coffee producers and exporters directly with the consumer, creating an opportunity to find new markets in areas where Ethiopian coffee is not accessible and promote it. The State Minister said the system would also support other organizations engaged in the business sector. She also confirmed that the company complies with the provisions of taxpayers and electronic communication. Huria said that the role of instant messaging service providers in electronic commerce should be recognised. The company's owner, Brianna DeKay, said that the system would help organise and promote coffee producers and sell coffee to local and international buyers. She added that since the coffee business is proliferating, the electronic marketing system will help integrate sales and supply.
