Improper use of horse-driven carriages on busy roads has become a considerable concern, particularly in the outskirts of Addis Abeba. Most horses are used for transportation up to eight hours a day and six days a week, loaded 500Kg of water or merchandise. They are indispensable means of livelihood in the capital and several towns. However, the animals need better care.
