It was a fresh breath for Addis Abeba last week, emerging from the global pandemic, conflicts and economic crises. International fashion vendors representing several African countries have showcased their product lines at the Skylight Hotel on Africa Avenue (Bole Road) for three days. Over 160 vendors from over 25 African countries descended in the capital, attending the show dubbed "Africa Sourcing & Fashion Week". The fashion week was organised by the Trade & Fair Group, a German and Kenya-based company. Organisers say the show aimed at providing a platform to link businesses with international buyers and market networking with fashion brands of over 30 high-end African designers. Companies displayed their products where they partnered with suppliers from the textile, design, leather and technology sectors. Over 200 vendors from south, west and east Africa participated, with 9,600 visitors before the worldwide pandemic, with a 37pc drop last year.
