City to Welcome International Poultry Marketers

Oct 22 , 2022

Over 70 domestic and international vendors from Kenya, the United States, and European countries will congregate in the capital to showcase their poultry products. Planned for three days at the end of January next year, the exhibition will be held in the Skylight Hotel on Africa Avenue (Bole Road). Representatives of the Ethio-Poultry Expo (Ethiopex) and African Livestock Exhibition & Congress (ALEC) made the announcement last week. Organizers expect over 4,000 participants to attend the event, projecting a 50pc increase from the previous year both in the number of participants and attendees. The exhibition provides a platform to link businesses with international marketers, citing countries' interest in participating. The experience sharing on nutrition through an integrated poultry value chain engages participants, organizers say. Managers of Prana Events attributed the rise in interest to the rapid growth in population and urbanization as well as growing consumers' purchasing power and demand for livestock products. The 11th edition of the poultry exhibition is solely sponsored by Dashen Bank, with the SNV-Netherlands Development Organization, Pan-African Chamber of Commerce, and the Ethiopian Society of Animal Producer Processors Association participating as institutional partners.
