Customs Commission Collects 103b Br

The Ethiopian Customs Commission reports its offices have collected over 103 billion Br in revenues over the first three quarters of the financial year. The figure is nearly a quarter higher than what it collected over the same period last year. Reporting to the Ministry of Revenues, the Commission is tasked to administer and collect customs, excise duties and other taxes on import trade. Its officials target to collect 154 billion Br this year, over 40 billion Br higher than what the Commission managed last year. The Commission reports its branch offices have seized 3.5 billion Br worth of contraband goods over the reporting period.
