Road Projects Kick-off in Bahir Dar

Bahir Dar City Administration kicks off the construction of 16.7Km roads with 910 million Br investment covering six districts. Out of the total road, 9.3Km will be gravel while the remaining will be asphalt roads. The roads are expected to be finalised in three years period. The project will create 750 employment opportunities, according to Muluken Ayew, the mayor of the city. The government has been planning to reach 220,000Km in road coverage by the end of the second edition of the Growth & Transformation Plan (GTP II)  from 110,414Km four years ago. Nonetheless, only 120,171Km has been paved to date.
