Dire Dawa Inaugurates 80m Br Transport Terminal

The Dire Dawa City Administration inaugurated a transport terminal that cost an estimated 80 million Br to build this past week. The bus terminal rests on 39,000sqm of land and the construction took a total of two years to complete. Officials cite that the terminal has the capacity to serve over 80,000 travellers daily and ease congestion. Dire Dawa is one of the largest cities in Ethiopia with a population of close to 400,000. It has long been a centre of trade and is currently one of the main stops on the Addis Abeba-Djibouti railway.
