Pulse, Oil Seeds Association Welcomes New President

Feb 13 , 2021

The Ethiopian Pulses, Oil Seeds & Spices Processors-Exporters Association has appointed Sisay Asmare of RIB Trade & Industry Plc to serve as its president. The Association also elected Edao Abdi of Edao International Trading as vice president and seven new board members during its general assembly held at Capital Hotel earlier last week. The Association, founded almost two decades ago with just 16 members, has since grown to include 455 processors and exporters of pulses, oilseeds and spices. A considerable amount of the foreign currency gained from the export of the sector comes through the Association. The Association provides a range of services to its members including availing relevant information and advice concerning the international market; capacity-building training; organising conferences to foster connections with potential buyers; facilitating participation in international exhibitions; and maintaining contacts with relevant government bodies.
