The Ethiopian Construction Works Regulatory Authority has reported saving around 18.9 million Br in expenses on construction projects over the first half of the fiscal year. This was accomplished by evaluating the cost of construction projects, according to the report. The half-year report pivots around five major programmes: transformation and good governance; standardisation and information; construction works input and supervision; certification and registration; and administration and management. It also details that the Authority collected over 13.5 million Br in registration and certification of various services, achieving 69.5pc of its goals. The Authority had also introduced a directive to formally include the private sector in construction equipment valuation during the reporting period. Termed the Construction Equipment Registration & Disposal, the directive was prepared by a team of experts from Bahir Dar University and incorporates availing machinery permits and valuation services online.
