Awash Donates 30m Br for 'Dine for Nation'

Awash Bank has invested 30 million Br in the recently launched fundraising event dubbed "Dine for Nation" to develop tourist destination sites in Wonchi, Gorgora and Koisha. The Bank has also announced that it has distributed 2.2 billion Br worth of the new notes across its 473 branches in the country from the 4.1 billion Br notes it received from the central bank. This also includes the dissemination of new currency to other private banks. Awash had bought a 25 million Br bond for the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and donated 10 million Br for the efforts against the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Bank was also recently awarded as one of the higher taxpaying companies, paying 1.3 billion Br in the last fiscal year. The 26-year-old Bank had registered an annual gross profit of 4.2 billion Br for the same year.
