Eight Hospitals Receive 80,000 PPE

Australian Doctors for Africa (ADFA), a volunteer humanitarian organisation, has handed over 80,000 items of personal protective pquipment (PPE) to buttress the ongoing fight against the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The donation included face masks, goggles, sanitiser and face shields to be allocated to healthcare professionals in eight hospitals across the country. The donation was presented by Peter Doyle, Australian ambassador to Ethiopia and permanent representative to the African Union, to the representatives from the Ministry of Health and public hospitals in Addis Abeba. Established in 2005, ADFA is a not-for-profit, community-based organisation headquartered in Australia that provides medical training, hospital equipment and infrastructure development for African countries. The organisation is currently operational in Madagascar, Ethiopia, Somaliland and Comoros through its humanitarian and volunteer medical operations.
