UNDP Backs Public Offices with PPE, ICT Equipment

The United Nations Development Fund (UNDP) has provided personal protective equipment (PPE) and information communication technology (ICT) tools worth 930,000 dollars to 34 federal and regional entities around the country. The support, which is part of the UNDP's global Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) response, is intended to support the continuation of public service during the pandemic. Berhanu Feyissa, deputy commissioner of the Federal Civil Service Commission, received the donation from Turhan Saleh, UNDP Ethiopia resident representative on Friday, August 21, 2020. The equipment was handed over to the Federal Civil Service Commission to be distributed to federal and regional entities. The donation is expected to aid in the prevention, management and, more importantly, the mitigation of the effects of the pandemic. The offices of the President, Prime Minister and Attorney General; the parliament; Federal Supreme Court; ministries of Finance, Peace, Defence and Agriculture; and Somali and Afar regional states are among the beneficiaries.

Cabinet Approves Public Service Legislation
