DStv Features American Cable Sports Channels

MultiChoice Group is set to start providing two 24-hour ESPN channels, American multinational basic cable sports channels, to DStv customers across the continent beginning July 29. MultiChoice and The Walt Disney Company Africa signed a partnership agreement last week. Subscribers of DStv can access European football, as well as premier American leagues including the National Basketball Association, the National Football League, the National Hockey League and Major League Baseball, via ESPN & ESPN2. The channels will also feature live football from the English Football League, Scottish Premier Football League, Dutch Eredivisie and Major League Soccer, as well as local sports including the West African Football Union Cup of Nations and featured boxing tournaments and events. In addition to live sports programming, viewers will be able to access films, series, news, talk shows and highlights from ESPN’s sports documentary and studio programming.
