The Ministry of Finance inked a grant agreement with the Netherlands for just under 16 million euros to finance the Kunzila Integrated Landscape Management and WASH projects. The agreement was signed virtually by Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide and Thijs Woudstra, deputy ambassador of the Netherlands in Ethiopia. The project, signed at the end of last week, is expected to improve agricultural productivity for 22,000 people and employ at least 750 youth. The financial and technical support will also give access to clean water for 22,058 rural and 9,529 urban people in Amhara Regional State. The project will be executed by the consortium of the Water & Land Resource Centre of Addis Abeba University and SNV, a Netherlands-based nonprofit organisation. SNV provides technical assistance and programme implementation in agriculture, WASH and energy sectors and is currently active in eight regional states and two city administrations in the country.
