Arega Yirdaw (PhD), the longest serving CEO of MIDROC Technology Group, tendered his resignation late last week on April 25, 2020.

In his letter addressed to Mohammed Hussien Ali Al-Amoudi (Shiekh), the founder and chairperson of MIDROC, Arega claimed that he could not continue in his post due to alleged indirect interference from various individuals.

"On top of the challenges we have been facing from every direction over the past two years, those who appointed themselves at MIDROC have been undermining our [the management's] dignity and authority," reads Arega's resignation letter. "And we have been observing this with patience."

The indirect interference at Huda Real Estate, MIDROC Gold Mine and ELFORA Agro-Industries has forced him to resign, Arega said. While leaving his role as CEO of the Group, he has asked to maintain his presidency at Unity University, one of the many subsidiaries of MIDROC.

Arega has been overseeing 26 companies under the umbrella of MIDROC for the past 22 years since returning from the United States.
