Ethiopia, Qatar Sign $18m Grant Deal

Ethiopia and Qatar have signed an 18-million-dollar grant agreement for the construction and furnishing of a specialized kidney treatment center in the capital. State minister for Finance, Admasu Nebebe, and director-general of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), Khalifa bin Jassem Al-Kuwari, signed the grant agreement last week. The hospital will have a six-floor building and rest on 6,337Sqm plot of land. It will be equipped with 77 inpatient beds, one intensive care unit (ICU), four operating rooms, 10 outpatient consultation rooms, as well as six hemodialysis stations. It is expected to give services to patients with conditions that may lead to kidney failure and those that may have it.
