The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has called for 170 million dollars in emergency funding to meet critical food and nutrition needs in Tigray Regional State over the next six months. An estimated 4.5 million people require emergency food assistance in the Regional State, and the government has requested that the WFP provide support to around a third of this number. In addition to delivering emergency food assistance in Tigray, the WFP is providing nutritional support for up to 875,000 vulnerable women and children in the region over the next six months. It also gives monthly food rations to 35,000 Eritrean refugees at the Adi Harush and Mai Ayni refugee camps.
