Tourism Ethiopia is partnering with Facebook on a project aimed at alleviating the detrimental effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism industry. Dubbed "Boost with Facebook for Tourism Ethiopia," the partnership focuses on improving the digital marketing capabilities of small and medium enterprises engaged in the tourism and hospitality industries. It aims to reach 5,000 businesses through the provision of training on the use of the Facebook family of apps, which include Instagram and WhatsApp, for marketing purposes. The initiative is currently being run virtually through instructor-led live webinar sessions led and implemented by Summer Media, a domestic advertising agency, founded in 2013 by Frezer Tesfahun.
