The state monopoly shipping giant, Ethiopia Shipping & Logistics Services Enterprise (ESLSE), amassed 25.7 billion Br in revenues during the recently ended fiscal year. The revenue represents a 37pc increase from the previous year, according to Roba Megersa, CEO of the Enterprise, which also amassed 2.6 billion Br in gross profit during the reporting period. The revenue was generated from transporting a total of 11 million tonnes of import and export goods. During the previous year, the Enterprise transported seven million tonnes of goods. The Enterprise operates 11 vessels and two leased oil tankers. It carries 20pc of the country's import and export commodities using its own vessels.
